PME Group were contracted by Dundee and Angus College to carry out essential electrical upgrades to Panel Boards within the PE Block and North Annexe of their Gardyne Campus in Dundee. The works were carried out under tight summer timelines and in live building conditions where ongoing community use had to be maintained.
“I have known the guys from PME for some time, and I didn’t hesitate to ask them to assist us with works within our campus. We were looking for a solution to upgrade our Panel Boards within the Gardyne Campus in the PE Block and North Annexe. Martin and Grant met with me to look over the jobs and introduced Wylex to us to assist in finding the correct solution within the tight timescales.
PME were then invited to tender for the works inclusive of a quality submission. Whilst the North Annexe was largely unused during the College Summer Break, the PE Block was in full use with kids’ summer camps and other leisure activities and PME had to accommodate our requirement to maintain the electricity supplies to these areas. This meant that PME had to work a lot of out-of-hours to allow us to maintain our daily operations.
This was compounded by the need for the project to be completed during the summer break and prior to our students returning at the start of term in August. Further works were also identified during the panel board replacements, but despite these challenges PME did everything to ensure that the works were completed within the agreed timeline. The PME team performance throughout this project was exceptional and without doubt, we will be working together again on future Dundee and Angus College projects.”
